John Mann

Following graduation matriculated at SUNY Albany and worked summers at Victor Coal and Lumber.

Married Laura Walker in 1968-- Graduated from SUNY in 1969. Taught back at VCS High School for ten years.

Son Lawrence born in 1971.

Moved to Southern CA in 1979. Taught there and also sold real estate. Acquired a permanent position at a junior high school in Redlands, CA, until 1993.

Divorced in 1987 – married Deborah Detweiler – one son Peter.

Moved to Boise, ID, in 1993 and became the training coordinator in the R&D Division of Micron Semiconductor.

Moved to Missoula, MT, in 1996. Debbie was a manager at a JC Penney Store there and I worked as a researcher for a land title company. Remained there until 1999. Coaxed back in 1999 to CA by a former friend who was looking for experienced teachers – so off we went. Remained there until June of 2009 when I gleefully retired.

In 2005 Deb was diagnosed with a particularly virulent strain of multiple myeloma and given five years to live, so we had to get back to Montana. Twelve days after retiring we were back here in Hamilton. Lost Deb right after New Year's Day in 2011.

Since then did some traveling to Michigan and also CA and AZ. Mostly involved now with a folk trio three of us formed called Tin Cup (on Facebook) and taking care of my Australian Shepherd and irrigating and mowing about two acres of grass.

Love the winters here.

Second pic below mine is the view I'm forced to look at each day ☺
