Nancy Bowe Groden 

 

Attended a one-room school house in Kindergarten and 1st grade.  Went to Victor Central 2nd grade through Senior.  Graduated 9th in my class.  In my senior year, I was class treasurer, Editor of Hilltopics, member of the National Honor Society and received the best improved female student from Freshman through Senior years.  After graduation began working for RG&E in July.  Married in 1967.  My first daughter, Amy Elizabeth born in May of 1968.  We built a house and moved to Farmington Rd.  In September of 1973, my second daughter was born, Kristen Elizabeth.  Had been working for Grossman’s lumber, when after a divorce I transferred to the Boston area. Amy graduated from U Mass/Amherst with a degree in Education.  Kristen graduated from SUNY/Oswego and later received her Masters in corporate tax from Northeastern in Boston.  Married and moved to Norton, MA in 1990. In 1996, Grossman’s closed its doors.  I took some computer classes to update my computer skills.  In 1997 I was hired for a small company as their project manager.  We purchased an investment property in Falmouth on Cape Cod where we did summer rentals for 12 years.  I retired this year on December 1st.  As soon as our condo sells, we will move permanently to the Cape.  My hobbies are reading, walking, gardening and golfing.
