Friday eve meet and greet at Champion Hills Country Club. Thanks to Lane Boughton for coordinating a wonderful evening. The club house is beautiful, the staff welcoming, the food was great and the music group enjoyable. Saturday morning we toured the VCS campus. On stage at the old high school where we spent most of our years at VCS – John North, Ralph Spezio, Roger Barry, Ed Holtz, Luann Bauer Holtz, Jim Sampson, Faye Bliss Beaumont, Gary Mandrino, June Nickel Gullace, Neal Cotton, Richard Barbato, Nancy Palmer Payne, Vinny Caruso, Winona Hall Meier, John Morrissey, John Metcalf

Dawn Santiago Marullo (VCS Superintendent of Schools and our tour guide) shows us the new (2013) aquatic center.

43 of the 92 remaining graduates of the Class of 1965 attended one of the events over the 3 day reunion.

101 graduated on June 28, 1965.

We paid tribute to our teachers and the VCS support staff. After dinner we sang the VCS Alma Mater.

Before dinner John Morrissey recognized the 9 classmates who are no longer with us and Mike Lucey gave the benediction.

After dinner, Albert Pezzimenti entertained with a “memories of our days at VCS” trivia game, and awarded one of several Victor Insulator coffee mugs to Susan Peck for guessing the right answer to one of the questions

Albert, Roger Barry and John Morrissey were the MC’s after dinner. John asked the classmates to stand up in a survey about our lives since graduation. Roger showed photos from the website of the classmates who could not attend the reunion but had sent in a bio for our class website. Many thanks to John Bay for setting up the website and for displaying these photos from our fiftieth reunion. 71 of the remaining 92 classmates had sent in a bio describing their life since graduation.

Luann showed us the kindergarten photos from the 1953 yearbook and pointed out that 45 of the original 83 students who started together in 1952 had graduated together on June 28, 1965 – and that 30 were here tonight for the 50th reunion.

Donna recognized Luann for chairing the reunion committee and for tracking down 95% of the Class of 1965 and inviting them to the fiftieth reunion.
